חֲמַע

חֲמַעI ch. = h. חָמֵץ to be sour; to be leavened. Targ. O. Ex. 12:34; a. e.; v. חֲמִיעַ.Y.Pes.II, end, 29c בגין דיִחְמַע that it might turn sour (vinegar). Pa. חַמֵּעַ to leaven.
